Making It

So much of what creates serendipity is completely unpredictable. I'm fortunate to have my studio in the Art Work Space building next to the Boulder School of Fine Art main classroom. Interested people stop by to learn more about the school and the studios and artists here. Today, Dirk from Nederland called and said that he has made charcoal from willow branches growing on his land and asked if I wanted to see it. Sure!

As long as we have willow branches and a way to smolder them, we artists will have charcoal.
